NetApprentice

3NS has created one of the world's most robust content management systems. Not only does it give you the ability to create complex web sites, but it also has a built-in subscriber's database and integrated events calendar. Here are some of the features:

  • Security management system for creating unlimited user accounts and permissions groups that define what areas of the site are accessible to the users.
  • Customizable on-line calendar which can be displayed in a number of different formats (month view, day view, event list).
  • Integrated subscriber's database with customizable fields and the ability to assign contacts to events.
  • Module for creating donations forms with a transaction ledger.
  • Module for sending on-line newsletters and batch e-mails to a cross-section of your subscriber's database.
  • Optional web forum which is integrated with the subsriber's database.
  • Fuzzy text search manager
  • Content manager with in-browser HTML editor
  • Image Manager for batch uploading and managing site images.

Not-For-Profit Organizations

Although our software is useful to all types of website owners, it was initially developed specifically for non-profit organizations.  The subscriber's database keeps track of households and at the same time stores custom information for each household member.  This keeps you from sending duplicate mailings to the same household, and yet lets you send targeted information to a particular set of members (for instance children's birthdays).

The Problem of Duplicates

Our subscriber's database has a powerful de-duping tool that helps you to maintain the integrity of the data in your database.  It is able to find those contacts that may have a slightly different spelling to the street address or a mispelled name and present them to you in a side-by-side fashion for you to determine whether a duplicate exists.  If so, you are given the option of merging the 2 contacts, deleting one of them, or in the case where they are related contacts but not actual duplicates, it will let you add one as a family member to the other.

Event Calendar

Our event calendar is powerful!  Not only can subscriber's sign up for events on-line, but you can create custom fields for the sign-up form (or store hidden fields that are only accessible to a site administrator) and create reports based on those fields.  Say you are planning a basketball tournament.  For this tournament, you will be providing team t-shirts so you need to capture shirt sizes and team names.  In addition, you want to know whether the one signing up is a player, a team captain, a volunteer, or a donor.

You can set up fields to capture all of this information as well as administrative fields to let you know whether someone has paid their registration fee or made a donation.  As you near the deadline for the registration payment, you can generate an e-mail report or call list based on those who have not paid and send out a friendly reminder.  Or you can look at last year's event and generate a list of past volunteers to ask for help.  The uses are endless.
